so wait a second. papers are dying because ads are migrating to the net, they lack the ability to keep pace with the instant reporting of the net, and reading is losing significance in our culture as younger people join the consumer market. So journalism dies. But kids writing at the apex sources of blogging—Gawker, etc—leave for jobs—print jobs—at the best magazines in the country the second they can.

Everyone should just get off the sidelines and go to law school already.

Johnston is urging a "wait and see" approach to this. Is that what we really want? Many believe government doesn't act soon enough. They usually wait until it's too late or do nothing at all.

Lenders are still lending because the government is getting involved to stabalize the market. If they didn't get invovled, the credit markets would def sieze up.

It's that simple. The pool of people who qualify for loans is shrinking.

Getting support from the financial sector is a step in the right direction. It's pretty clear that Carcieri and the state legislature aren't doing a good job with it. This makes him a stronger candidate than Cicilline.

Ah....could it be that Patrice Wood feeling her age and getting jealous? Or which peroxide chick Mrs. McGee (the sub-Queen Bee) or Mrs. Muri....was getting scared of a younger, harder working talent ousting their comfy seat.

While the Moderate Party of RI is a natural landing place for disaffected Republicans who disdain the guerilla politics and policies of GOP ideologues like 'Mike' who left that nice comment above, it is also appropriate for disaffected Democrats who feel that they have no alternative to the failed and ethically bankrupt leadership of the Democratic Party in this state.

In fact, there are probably many more disaffected Dems out there than GOPs (just based on the State's skewed political landscape).

We have endorsed GOP, Dem and Independent candidates for the General Assembly.

Mike's brand of dribble is not conducive to anything but perpetuating the politics of destruction and gridlock in government. How does his venom help solve the State's fiscal crisis, improve our schools or clean up our ethically challenged legislature?

'Mike' really sums up why so many people are turned off by the GOP these days. Neanderthal is one of the only nice words that I can conjure up to describe someone like this, although it really does a disservice to the cavemen.

The Chargers got off to a lousy start last year, too, but battled their way into the AFC title game. But then again, losing Merriman hurts them just as bad as losing Brady hurts the Pats.

Pat...good question, especially since I believe Kraft's a Democrat (which probably puts him in a distinct minority among pro sports executives).

This is weird-the comparison of Palin's and Obama's qualifications.he is at the top of the ticket and she isn't.That doesn't bode well for him.

Of course McCain and Biden have both been Senators for a loooong time,so the experience issue there is a wash.
