Restaurant Week's best deal?

Restaurant Week is just beginning - tonight's only the third night -  but we already have a nominee for the best deal of the whole shebang. At Pepperclub diners can choose not from some sort of special tasting menu - like at most of the other restaurants (and which are great and special and good value in their own ways) - but from the regular menu. Every offering is included in some way, and it's pretty simple to grasp.

And at $20 per person for a three-course meal (drinks, tax, and tip extra), it's a deal worth running for.

For appetizers, choose from the soups of the day, or smaller portions of the samosas or spring rolls. Or, if you're willing to share, two people can split the baked Brie, mussels, hummus-and-dipping items, or other larger apps. (For those familiar with the menu there, those are the apps you can't possibly eat on your own anyway - unless they're your main meal.)

For the entrees, everything's game - fish, poultry, meat, and vegetarian dishes. (For the record, last night's local-beef meatloaf over mashed local root veggies was really great on a cold winter's night, and the Thai peanut bay scallops offered the promise of spring around the corner. Both were delightful - and bountiful enough for leftovers!)

And then there are Pepperclub's desserts, which are well known in town - especially among we chocoholics. They're all included, as best we could tell (though the restaurant was out of a couple of them, so those ones might not be involved in the deal). You can't go wrong with the chocolate cheesecake or the choco-coconut mousse. Better yet, do as we did and get both and share!

If you haven't been to Pepperclub, this is the time to try - it's a massive discount off their normal meal. If you are a fan, go again and explore the menu some more!
