Holy crow! Free chocolate!
Our newish BFFs (and purveyors/dealers of our favorite food/drug) at Dean's Sweets just announced an amazing offer - FREE CHOCOLATE. We are not kidding; they are not kidding. This is not an April Fool's joke, nor any other sort of joke. (I never joke about chocolate. It's WAY too serious a topic.)
Dean's Sweets, which our reviewer Brian Duff absolutely loved, hand-makes small batches of chocolate truffles. That's it. And you have to taste them to understand truly how good they are. Now you can - for free! Call it their form of a tax rebate - the giveaway runs now through April 15, the day income taxes are due.
All you have to do is go there - they're at 82 Middle Street, in the same row-building as Hugo's and Pepperclub/Good Egg (between the two, actually) - and tell them you want the "Tax Day Truffle" offer - which is one free truffle from their wide selection of super-yummy options, like maple, stout, cayenne, and others.
Why would you do this, if you can get free nibble-sized samples almost any time from the dishes atop the display? Well, obviously, because standing there for hours just gobbling the samples can get embarrassing. (Trust us on this one.)
This is a way to get free stuff with no embarrassment. Bring your friends!
One note - they're closed Tuesdays, so go today (they close at 6) or any other day; Sun-Mon, Wed-Thurs they're open 11 am to 6 pm; Fri-Sat 11 am to 7 pm.
Oh, and one more note - bring some money, because once you've tried the free one, you'll want more. (And we gotta say, totally uncool if you just load up on free stuff by popping in repeatedly between now and Tax Day. Shell out some cash to support a local business that's being nice.)
