LD 1020 - majority "Ought To Pass" #marryME

The Judiciary Committee work session is still going on. And the committee did kill the expansion of the domestic partnership registry (LD 1118). But the same-sex marriage vote (LD 1020) has been taken, and it's a majority "Ought To Pass."

Here's the tally:

Senator Lawrence Bliss (D-Cumberland), Chair - co-sponsor, commented in favor; voted Yes

Senator Barry J. Hobbins (D-York) - voted Yes

Senator David R. Hastings III (R-Oxford) - wants to send it to the voters; voted No and proposed an amendment requiring referendum

Representative Charles R. Priest (D-Brunswick), Chair - co-sponsor; voted Yes

Representative Mark E. Bryant (D-Windham) - commented in favor; voted Yes

Representative Cynthia A. Dill (D-Cape Elizabeth) - co-sponsor, commented in favor; voted Yes

Representative Richard C. Cleary (D-Houlton) - commented in favor; voted Yes

Representative Dawn Hill (D-York) - moved it "Ought To Pass;" commented in favor; voted Yes

Representative Charles B. Kruger (D-Thomaston) - commented in favor; voted Yes

Representative Sara R. Stevens (D-Bangor) - co-sponsor, commented in favor; voted Yes

Representative Joan M. Nass (R-Acton) - commented against; voted No and recommends "Ought Not To Pass"

Representative Michael G. Beaulieu (R-Auburn) - voted Yes

Representative Jarrod S. Crockett (R-Bethel) - commented against; voted No and recommends "Ought Not To Pass"

Representative Wayne T. Mitchell (Penobscot Nation) - co-sponsor, seconded motion of "Ought To Pass;" voted Yes
