Boston Comic Con & Monster March: this weekend!

Having never been to Boston's Comic Con before, I can't speak to what you should expect -- though their website should do the job for me. Compared to New York Comic Con's holy-shit-hugeness, Boston has a long way to go, but surely there are enough comic book fans in Beantown to beef up attendance and help the home team. Given the remarkably low price of $10 per day, even geeks strapped for cash have no excuse to not make an appearance at the Back Bay Events Center this weekend. For the cost of a movie, you can get an eyeful of embarrassing and/or awesome costumes, plus the opportunity to meet the artists and writers behind heroes like Hulk and Wolverine (check out the artist roster on that website: a very impressive list!). I'll be stopping by tomorrow myself, so expect pictures and a post to follow.

I'll also be hitting up the Monster March at the Boston City Hall Plaza on Sunday, which should round out my costumed-people-watching for the weekend. It's a kid-friendly benefit march and festival -- in other words, it's a great excuse to test the waters on your Halloween costume a week in advance.
