Programming Note

I don't know that this is exactly "Must See TV."  But I have a feeling it will be amusing watching Howie Carr chat with Bill O'Reilly tomorrow night on "The Factor " as Howie hawks his new book "The Brothers Bulger: How they Terrorized and Corrupted Boston for a Quarter Century."

Addendum -- Sorry, just got word that Howie's appearance on O'Reilly's show has been postponed till Feb. 28. Stand down.

Hmm. I am unfamiliar with definitions of "amusing" that might include the use of an airsickness bag, but hey, I guess I've led a sheltered life.

Can't wait. Talk about a lineup to make every Boston liberal cringe. That list includes everyone at Morrisey Blvd. You go Howie.

Reality is that despite the wishes of those at the Globe, more Bostonians find the Bulgers relevant than care about the Globe's "foreign policy outrage du jour". Billy and Whitey may not be as talked about in Cambridge salons as Larry Summers but more of us find them compelling. Today's Harvard-centric Globe is a good example of writing for oneself, rather than the readers. The number of out-of-New England letters to the editor is also a good indication of their desire to be a national paper. My cancellation is sooner rather than later.
