  Howie, Howie, Howie, As our attention turned to more pressing things in the last few years, I have wondered how Howie was still going to cash in on his Whitey obssession, even as the thug lingered on the most wanted list., for good reason. Now we see the payoff for good ol' Howie. I am sure it is not as big as he wanted. It's never big enough and those pesky taxes are never low enough. BUt you have to give huim credit. He is still milking it. He is a bit of a facist, but I like the guy and I think he is indispensible for this area. Not only is he entertaining unlike many of the snoozers around this area, but I ilike his instinct and his reporter's drive. I wish young journalists would dig up and remember facts as well as he has and for as long as he has. He is a good reference for a lot of New england crap that no one wouldknow. Not all useless crap. But anyway.... One thing seems unsettled here is Whitey being gay. Weeks flatly denined he ever was.Howie maintains he was and has witnesses but I haven't seen anyone public affirm so. I tend to believe Howie on this one. God only knows what happened. Not that it matters, but the importance of it extends to other facts. If they can't agree on that aspect, whatelse is in dispute and who is accurate and who is not. I am sure some of Howie's sources don't want to come out to the daylight, but we still should have a way to verify some of the discrepnacies.

  I think your definition of "gay" and Howie's may be different. If Whitey were bisexual, (or "curious" and/or just a degenerate), Howie would give him the same treatment. I'm as far to the right as he is but his hostility to gays and alcoholics has always mystified me.
