Pierce, Warren + Lopes on Newsmakers

Speaking of Joe Trillo, his Democratic opponent, William Pierce, makes an appearance this week on WPRI/WNAC-TV's Newsmakers.

Pierce, a student at RIC and member of the RI National Guard, deserves credit for getting involved in politics while in his early 20s. Yet when I asked whether Rhode Islanders would be better served by a more competitive balance in the General Assembly, he dodged the question, as would many pols, elected or aspiring.

There's a sharp contrast between the older and more experienced Trillo, and his younger, greener challenger, so this should be an interesting race.

Also appearing on this week's show, broadcast Sunday at 5:30 am on Channel 12 and at 10 am on Fox 64, are Christine Lopes, the executive director of Common Cause of Rhode Island, and Dr. Tim Warren, the local chiropractor who conquered Mount Everest on his second try.
