Local 121 to mark one-year anniversary

Kudos and congrats to Josh Miller and his crew at Local 121, which is due to celebrate its one-year anniversary on Thursday. The downtown Prov boite has emerged as a popular watering hole and venue for all manner of entertainment, including DJ's in the tap room and film discussions and political get-togethers downstairs.

PROVIDENCE – May 15, 2008 – Local 121, located at 121 Washington Street, Providence, is celebrating it one-year anniversary on Thursday, June 19th with a reception from 5 – 7 pm featuring a raw bar and a prefixe dinner beginning at 7 pm.  Owned and operated by Senator Josh Miler of the legendary Trinity Brewhouse and The Hot Club, Local 121 has become known as a premier restaurant downtown, garnering visitors from across Rhode Island and New England since opening last year. The restaurant's customer base has expanded to an eclectic group of regulars and continues to grow in popularity. Guests frequent Local 121 to enjoy a variety of experiences – quick lunch breaks, dinner dates, special occasion celebrations and large events.

Over the past year, Local 121 has introduced many new concepts and hosted a variety of events such as the popular “Wednesday Night Film Series,” which showcase both local short and independent films, as well as documentaries and feature films. In keeping with the tradition of “All Things Local,” every Sunday the restaurant offers a 50 Mile Meal dinner featuring a special prefixe menu that changes weekly.  This spring, the restaurant introduced their “Field to Table Series,” a variety of locally-centered events focused on connecting farmers with the community.
