Wednesday: rally against foreclosures

 

An action being staged later this week by Ocean State Action and some other groups:

Next Wednesday, Dec. 10 - Join us as we say, "Housing is a human right"

JOIN THE PEOPLE'S BAILOUT WEEK OF ACTION in PROVIDENCE:
While the banks get bailed out, they are throwing families out of their homes. The week of December 7-13, people around the nation are standing up to say: we need a People's Bailout.

Rally for tenants and against foreclosures and evictions on International Human Rights Day
Wednesday, December 10 at 5pm
804 Potters Avenue, Providence
(A home whose tenants have received eviction notices)

The foreclosure crisis in Providence is growing. Tenants are fighting back. On International Human Rights Day, please come out to reaffirm housing as a basic human right, share your support & join the call for a moratorium on foreclosures.

As part of the week of action Ocean State Action will support The Rhode Island Bank Tenant and Homeowner Association along with DARE, Housing Action, the RI Coalition for the Homeless, Providence SDS & Jobs with Justice.
