Gov to make live TV budget address

From Governor Carcieri's office:

Governor Donald L. Carcieri will discuss the State of Rhode Island's financial situation and outline details of his FY 09 supplemental budget during a live, televised address on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. The address will be will air live on live on all three local network TV affiliates (WJAR NBC 10, WLNE ABC 6, and WPRI 12) at 7:00 p.m. The Governor will be available to the media for questions immediately following the budget address.

"These are truly extraordinary times. Rhode Island is facing unprecedented budget challenges that will require many difficult decisions to resolve," Governor Carcieri said. "My supplemental budget plan will include many hard choices necessary to bring the budget back into balance and to put the state back on the right path. The supplemental budget will also address the underlying policies that have led to our current financial challenges. This is the time for all Rhode Island's elected officials, here at the State House and on the local level, to work together to put Rhode Island on a path that strengthens our economy and our communities."
