Bill Lynch makes his move

Good timing is perhaps the most valuable of all political commodities, so with a Democrat coming into the White House, it makes perfect sense that Bill Lynch, chairman of the RI Dems, has made a pitch to be our next US attorney.

Brother Patrick, who is running for governor, has enjoyed relatively good poll ratings in the last year or so -- particularly for someone working in the political minefield-laden office of AG. And Bill has paid his dues with the Democratic Party.

Yet is there a point where two brothers occupying/seeking high-level government posts hurts the fortunes of one of them?

What about doing harm to the state?

If brother Billy is U.S. Attorney and Patrick gets the governorship, wouldn't that effectively make the executive branch untouchable? You can't tell me Bill would go after anything or anyone in his brother's administration if something Cianci-like takes hold.

Now, I'll admit that I'm repulsed by dynasties to begin with, but this is all just too much for me.
