Oh my god a rubber

1. R. Kelly album out today with all five parts of "Trapped in the Closet," which assiduous blog-surfers will already have downloaded last month. Now you can also watch the 15-minute-video miniseries, included as a bonus DVD. MTV's also got it online. Warning: it's on their new super-broadband site, which we had zero luck viewing.

Mr. Kelly is also kicking it with your girlfriend over at Said the Gramophone.

2. Sir Paul: let's see your Live 8 sales bump trump this!:

QUEEN OVERTAKE THE BEATLES AS THE MOST
SUCCESSFUL ALBUMS ACT IN UK CHART HISTORY
According to Guinness World Records Book
British Hit Singles & Albums

LONDON, July 4, 2005 -- New research by the team behind the popular music annual The Book of British Hit Singles & Albums has revealed that Queen has overtaken the Beatles as Official UK Album Chart champions, having spent more weeks on chart than the fab four . . .

Top 10 Most Successful Acts of All Time on the UK Albums Chart:
1. Queen (1,322 weeks)
2. The Beatles (1,293 weeks)
3. Elvis Presley (1,280 weeks)
4. U2 (1,150 weeks)
5. Dire Straits (1,136 weeks)
6. Simon and Garfunkel (1,114 weeks)
7. Madonna (1,032 weeks)
8. David Bowie (1,005 weeks)
9. Elton John (989 weeks)
10. Michael Jackson (966 weeks)

Not a new Queen single, but damn close: UK mashup dude Smash unearths partial Freddie Mercury demo, fleshes it out with original production and a killer Brian May guitar sample, and creates a not-mashed-up song that sounds like Larry Tee-programs-Live-Aid gold.
