Auction for Anna Ives - BID NOW!

And a 1975
Black Oak Arkansas t-shirt could be yours.
Venerable Memphis
indie label and store Goner Records
has been releasing titles by punk/garage acts such as the Oblivians, Guitar
Wolf, the Reigning Sound, Jay Reatard, King Khan & BBQ, and Eddy Current Suppression Ring since 1993.
Safe to say there
are probably many places Goner co-owner Zac
Ives would rather be than in Boston
today. But he’s here. Because today his four-year-old daughter Anna starts treatment at Mass
General after having two tumors removed from her brain in less than two years.
(MGH is one of just four hospitals in the country with the targeted proton
radiation treatment need to stop the tumors from returning, and is the only
one with experience doing the procedure on kids.)
Owning an
indie label doesn’t pay as much as, say, working on Wall Street (even
these days) which is why Goner co-owner Eric Friedl has set
up an auction — bidding for which ends tonight at 8 p.m. — to help
defray the cost of Anna’s medical treatment and of the Ives’ eight-week stay in
Boston.
Alas, the Stratocaster
signed by Genesis P-Orridge has already been sold. But there are still some
excellent treasures to be found.
Like, say,
a Gibson
Flying V ($300!!!) or the Scharpling
and Wurster Super Fun Pack or some original
comic book art signed by Cheap Trick's Robin Zander or photos
of Johnny Ramone, Joey Ramone, and Debbie Harry or a vintage
Hawkwind poster or the
“fiend club” edition of the Misfits’ Evilive
7" or an autographed
Jerry Lee Lewis Sun LP.
