Photos: Nicholas Cage braves the bro-pit at O'Brien's to see his son's black-metal band

ALL PHOTOS: Rev. Aaron for RETURN TO THE PIT

Yes, we're talking about that Nicholas Cage. And yes, you heard right: his son Weston Coppola Cage is in a black-metal band. By all reports, they're not bad.

Thanks to Rev. Aaron from Return to the Pit, we've got these snaps of last night's gig by Weston's band EYES OF NOCTUM. Nicholas Cage showed up with his wife, Alice Kim, and their young son Kal-El. You would think that a guy who names one of his kids after Superman would be douche-tastic in person, and yet -- not the case.

Says the Reverend: "He did what 90% of your dads never did and stood in a bar with 50 people checking out your band. Also, there was a bro-pit raging around him and he just stood there watching the show. Aces in my book." Cage the elder was also happy to oblige Robin from Ammonia Booking to pose for a photo we expect to see on his Facebook page for the next 10 years.

As for Eyes of Noctum? "Pretty good," opines the Reverend. "The singer needs to get a little more comfortable on the stage. I only say this 'cause his statements were a bit rehearsed. The band was tight. The music was very Dimmu [Borgir]-ish, but less symphonic. They got a killer response."
