The Corps spent a tremendous amount of taxpayer money deflecting blame away from itself after its levee system failed the people of N.O. and America.

To add to insult, the only federally ordered investigation of the horror was done by the very agency responsible for the levee system's performance, the Corps of Engineers.

If you investigate yourself, what do you think you're going to find?

It's been clear for ages that Von Trier is not over-endowed with social skills and has a very, erm, unusual sense of humor. His misguided comments at Cannes were hardly on a par with John Galliano's recent behavior - or even Mel Gibson's. The fest administrators over-reacted, IMO.

I don't know the guy, and I consider myself tactless and crass, unwittingly.

But Lars looks like a guy who thought being controversial was a way to be funny. So maybe he should stick to film-making and leave the comedy for the sharp wits and fast tongues.

Technically, you're correct. But in this context, the woman making the request is, without a sliver of a micron of a shadow of a doubt, referring to making the lipstick on our heroine's face match the tone of the fleshy sentries protruding at the entrance to her vagina.
