I would like to see some suggestions for ways to pressure our senatorial and congressional delegations. If this man is originally from Maine than it's our special duty to see to it he doesn't get into office. He's a loose cannon on board and does what he bloody well pleases. That alone should make any president uneasy, whether you agree with his objectives or not. (See Democracy Now, January 9, 2009). His support of murderous Indonesian military is all to reminiscent of the military in Central America in the 1980s. The whole thing is fishy. I mean, we get a well meaning but inexperienced liberal at the CIA and this expert military counter insurgency against civilian revolts. So is Mr. Panetta Liberal icing on an otherwise unilateral conservative cake? He will be undermined and ignored at every turn by the organization he's to clean up. The real SOBs will just go underground or worse get hired by Mr. Blair. It's too horrible to think about. Come on people. Put your thinking caps on! Lets stop this or at least expose it to the light of day.

Like a bad cold, the economy can only really recover on its own time. The more the politicians (including Obama) try to jigger it, the longer it is going to take to really recover. With the bailout, good money is chasing bad. Let natural market forces do their work, and everything will get better sooner rather than later. Obama can only make things worse by intervening, and he's smart enough to know it. But does he have the strength to Just Say No to all those clamoring for a quick fix and a bailout? NO. Because he's just another politician who got where he is by making promises he can't keep.
