Romney vs. Paul

National Public Radio is doing a fun little online game, running a GOP 2012 Presidential nominating contest through NCAA Tournament-like brackets. They started with 32 candidates, and are now in the second round.

Mitt Romney, who was given a number one seed, is in big trouble -- he has come up against Ron Paul in this round, and those Ron Paul fans, they do love themselves some Internet.

With just a couple of days left for voting, Romney is getting slaughtered nearly to-to-one, in a contest with by far the most voting action -- more than 100,000 votes.

My dark-horse candidate, Mike Pence -- who I initially ranked #3 but have since dropped to #4 in my own rankings -- will be eliminated by Sarah Palin in this round, but is holding his own at around 40%, considering the difference in name recognition. Another of my big underdog picks, Jim DeMint, is pulling an upset over Mike Huckabee. My top two, Mark Sanford and Tim Pawlenty, appear headed to the final 8 as well, with Pawlenty currently ahead of Newt Gingrich. My #5, John Thune, got knocked off in the first round.

During the Republican presidential debates, Ron Paul always came up with so many more votes than the others, that it left me with suspicions. This time Romney/Paul has more than twice the votes of any of the others. My suspicions have returned. I suspect something not quite fair is happening.

Romney/Paul has more votes than anyone else is because Paul supporters are much more organized.  I guarantee that this page is linked by several Ron Paul associated sites. The internet is their domain!  Most of them come and click on Ron Paul, and then ignore the rest.  I can tell you with all honesty that there is very little or no cheating going on.  Ron Paul is known for his integrity and honesty, and his supporters follow his example.

Tracy is correct.  Ron Paul has MANY supporters and is known for his integrity and honesty.  The others...well...we know what they're all known for.  ;-)

If the Republican Party had not tried to thwart Ron Paul at every turn the 2008 race would have been very different.  A Paul-Obama debate would have been one for the ages.

Ron Paul is our President!! -- they can run all the polls in the world and continue to trust the pundits making the polls telling people who "should" be the RNC leader --- It does not matter, the people speak every time overwhelming for the Good Dr who has voted to put liberty first since 1976!!

The reason Ron Paul usually wins the online poll is because underage kids always votes for him.

How do I know? Because I'm one of them!

Ron Paul is the trues statesman. Romney just wants to "negotiate" his way to be the commander in chief.

    Ron Paul is my president.

The '08 elections were rigged against him as shown by faux news and its moderators bias such as carl cameron, hannity, and the like. Then you also have him not being invited to an important debate in a state he strategically set as important. I don't acknowledge any of these nuts in office as having any authority over me and my family.

But damned if he wins a poll; oh my, then it's cheating. I hope anti-Ron Paul Americans enjoy their deserve the coming economic collapse they voted for.
