Whalebone Jackson

whalebone

Whalebone Jackson have been in the feel-good blues business for just over two years and quickly developed a following working the coffeehouse/open mic circuit, kicking out original acoustic barroom anthems fronted by the Reverend Mike Viccione and guitarist/vocalist Matt Diglio, who harmonizes on well-crafted originals “Edit” and “Don’t Need Monsters Anymore” while Viccione laments about vampires retiring and werewolves getting pink slips. “There’s no evil underneath your bed/there’s a good chance it’s lying next to you instead,” he and Diglio declare. Whalebone recently expanded to a four-piece, adding the Phenominal (sic) Blind Jasper on bass and drummer Matt Boyden, and standout tracks such as “Front Line,” “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is,” and “Low Rent Juliet” get the full treatment during the live show.
