The elaborate wallpaperings of "RGB" were designed in Milan but printed by local company Designtex (formerly Portland Color), whose work, according to SPACE Gallery director Nat May, so impressed Carnovsky that the duo suspended their traditional practice of printing exclusively at their home studio in Italy. This detail, besides notching one in the belts of the local artists and printers working at the facility on Industrial Way, gives the exhibit an interesting whiff of international collaboration. This week, the art worlds of Portland and Milan collide even further, as the duo appear at SPACE for a First Friday reception August 3 and an artist talk August 7th, both from 5-8 pm.
