While the character work is quite consistently fine, fun and convincing, a few blocking and stage direction matters could use a little revamping. Lamb has a tendency to bring characters far downstage to direct monologues house-ward, and she sometimes leaves them stranded there too long. Another technical glitch is that the height of the stage in relation to the audience makes it difficult for us to see everything that happens on top of that most central set-piece, the kitchen table.
But what happens around it is frequently quite affecting. As the sisters confront themselves, their pasts, and each other, they edge toward peace with all the Magrath tragedies. They also have a riotous time doing it, with enough sass, bawdiness, and warmth to sweeten even their bitterest, sourest fruits.
