The lusty ladies in La Giornata Omicida|The Deadly Day (1996) are interchangeable too, but in their red minis, black ankle boots, and black pageboy wigs, they made the result a delightful romp. Primping under a string of colored lights, they seemed to have taken over the patio of some Middle Eastern restaurant at three in the morning. They vogued and stomped with power and determination, a salutary change from Prometheus’s more standard sexual angst. Andy Taylor-Blenis, who has been dancing with Prometheus for 17 years, used her folkdance background to good effect, giving each deadpan strut an extra, knowing shimmy. Sign these gals as the back-up group in a production of The Vagina Monologues and they’ll do just fine.
