Hardly getting over it

And what I wanted to say — though I haven’t an ounce of his talent — what I wanted to say was that if this news has hit you hard, or if anything has — if you’ve had a rough day or week or year — if sometimes you feel like life is slipping through your fingers like quotidian liquid and you wish you could but you just can’t get a hold of it and catch your breath — or if sometimes you feel like a cold planet orbiting far from the sun in dark, dark space — listen: you are not alone in this world. What you do, how you live, it does matter. And mostly — mostly — you are not alone.
