The Higgins Armory Museum is the only institution in the Northeast dedicated solely to exhibition and study of arms and armor. The glass-and-steel building itself (a former metal-fabricating factory) is an architectural treasure. Historical combat demonstrations and classes and story times are offered throughout the fall. Open Tues-Sat 10 am-4 pm, and Sun noon-4 pm. Admission $9 adults, $8 seniors, $7 children six to 16. Free to members and children under five.
