PSYCHIATRIST ARRESTED
Child psychiatrist Dr. William Ayres, a former President of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, was arrested in San Mateo, California in 2007 for molesting young boys sent to him for therapy.
Dr. Ayres also treated children in Boston at Judge Baker Guidance Center from 1959-1963
The earliest known victim from California is from 1966. To date 45 victims have come forward. Ayres' first criminal trial ended in a mistrial in July 2009. He will be retried for his crimes against children in California in April, 2010. The Ayres case is one of the biggest cases of child abuse in recent northern California history.
I am a writer who is looking to find men who were treated by Ayres in Boston from 1959-1963. I have already located one former patient of Ayres in Boston and the story of his "therapy" with Ayres was disturbing.
The victims of Ayres and I believe that there are others in the Boston area. We would like to hear from you. Your confidentiality is assured. We need to hear from you.
