Rockpile Recording is located just minutes from beautiful downtown Rockport, with shops, restaurants, beaches, quarries and parks all a short, scenic stroll away.
The studio is located in the bottom - mostly underground level - of a large home in this quiet community. It was designed with live acoustic instruments in mind (since the owner is a drummer). Given the limited area, extra care was taken to squeeze the best possible sound and functionality out of the spaces. Iso and control rooms are very well isolated from each other, while still maintaining a view between rooms. This lends itself well to the intimacy required for live recording. Care was also taken in controlling - not deadening the rooms too much, allowing for a more natural live sound. Our objective at rockpile is to produce the best sounding recording attainable in a moderate space.
