Summary: Marcus Santos and Bloco AfroBrazil is a Brazilian bloco afro much in the tradition of Salvador, inspired by the likes of Ile Aiye and Olodum; it is composed by more than 20 of the best percussionists and musicians in New England. The group takes traditional Brazilian grooves like Samba, Maracatu, Baião, Galope, Ijexá and Frevo, and mix it up with Funk, Rock, Jazz and Hip Hop, all spiced up by tons of energy and entertainment and creates an explosive unique mix of energy and fun. After just few beats everybody will be moving to the tropical beats of this incredible band. Marcus Santos and Bloco AfroBrazil were recently nominated as one of the top 5 world music in Boston at the Boston Music Awards, and has played festivals like Beantown, Lowell Folk Festival, Cleveland's Ingenuity, PASIC and more.
