New Collisions

Bandguide Member

Summary: Everyone is seeking change these days and the kids on the dance floors are no exception. Bored with the tedium of indie rock melancholy, they are packing the clubs in droves to witness the sonic revolution being led by Boston's The New Collisions--guitar-driven pop rock with a retro, new wave sensibility and a keen sense of modern style. The New Collisions are fronted by the striking platinum blonde presence of Sarah Guild. A 21st century Deborah Harry meets Poly Styrene, Sarah defines the look and sound of the group, sonically breaking ground whilst paying reverence to those that came before. If you can stop your feet from dancing to the infectious beat your ears will be impressed by the influence of old school sounds such as Blondie, Missing Persons and X Ray Spex, along with modern contemporaries such as the Epoxies, Bloc Party and Santogold. The band has just entered the studio with producer Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Blondie, Missing Persons) to record their debut album. Both US & European tours are being planned for later in the year as the New Collisions conquer the world, one dance floor at a time...

Smashing success

The New Collisions start things off right
It feels as if all the music people these days were rushing toward a hyper-electro-modern future where they'll be programming drum machines hard-wired directly to their erogenous zones.
