Review: Jade Cricket

By BILL RODRIGUEZ  |  May 7, 2014

The centerpiece for my appetite was the roasted meats with egg noodles ($16), which combined roasted pork (the red-edged slices familiar from soups), crispy pork belly, and skin-on ginger chicken, accented with a handful of cilantro. The plentiful amounts of protein — no way could I finish it all— were atop vermicelli-thin egg noodles and green lengths of steamed yu choy (related to bok choy). As if this weren’t enough, a bowl of richly flavorful chicken broth, speckled with teeny bits of meat, was also provided.

For dessert you can have — remember: only after 6 pm — a scoop of coconut or green tea ice cream ($6) served in a fried wonton-skin cup over red beans and lotus seeds.

Go to Jade Cricket and you’ll fall in love, too.
