The crowd, determined by the neighborhood and the remarkable prices (and the fact that the restaurant takes no reservations), is very young. But with food this good and authentic, no one will call them naïve. The staff is also young, and there are lapses, but at these prices and this quality the lapses just don’t matter. The room is tiny, but the Tuscan-yellow walls give it a feeling of a little more space. There is just enough décor to evoke northern Italy, and the background music is modern jazz, which may be more popular there than anywhere these days. Quarry tile on the floor will evoke Italy in the summer, but it’s a little cold in the Boston winter. Have the ribolita to warm up.
