We know that sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. Yes, yes, that’s all well and good. But do you know what would be totally awesome? If there was a bar with stylish yet low-key ambiance, drinks that are delicious and pack a punch, and bartenders who certainly wouldn’t mind knowing your name, but who can conjure up much more than a black and tan. Cue the Charlesmark Lounge.
You may not notice the narrow Charlesmark Hotel façade as you walk down Boylston Street, but it’s most certainly worth stopping for. In fact, the tiramisu martini alone merits a drop-in. A brilliant concoction of vanilla vodka, Baileys, amaretto, sugar, spice, and everything nice, this drink eats like a meal — a delicious pastry-like meal. The Key-lime martini tastes like liquefied pie (in a good and alcoholic way, of course), and the Love Potion #9 martini is a fruity and intoxicating ... well ... potion. If you don’t see what you want, creative and accommodating bartender Vanessa will graciously make something up. And it will be delicious. And you will love it. And by the end of the night, hell, you probably won’t even know your name.
Available for $9 to $11 at the Charlesmark Lounge at the Charlesmark Hotel, 655 Boylston Street, in Boston. Call 617.247.1212.
