I should give nature a chance to really grow on me (besides, “growing” is the one thing that nature seems capable of without repulsing me). My man agrees, and, because I (sort of) care for him, I’m actually allowing him to drag me back into the White Mountains in a few weeks. This time, though, a compromise: we’ll hike in and out of the forest in a day, and then spend the night in a hotel. After all, just because bears poo in the woods doesn’t mean that I have to.
