But none of this soothes Cowboy’s soul. What he doesn’t know, and I’ll tell you, is that I did buy a very sexy white negligee from Italy. And that I’ve already imagined the post-show shower and climbing into bed with my new husband, my beautiful new ring we designed on my finger. And it all, frankly, feels like a movie. An Italian one, of course, probably Antonioni, given the sultry nature of what my mind is picturing given the nightgown. But it’s all still so far away and unreal, just like the prospect of getting married — even though it’s upon me, it feels light years away and like some film I’m about to star in and don’t yet have a script for. But I have to admit, the sexiness of it excites even me.
