The new gay bars
Is that a paradigm shift in your pocket?
If I may channel the late, great Estelle Getty for a moment: picture it, Provincetown, 2009, a dashing young man with no discernible tan and an iffy T-Mobile signal languishes bored upon the sprawling patio of the Boatslip Resort.

Bike Week and beyond
From bike week to bike month, a line-up of great rides, summits, and get-togethers are helping make 2010 the year of the bike in Boston.
Boston is a great bicycling city. Sure, you have to deal with sociopathic, maniacal motorists who’ve never heard of a turn signal. And yes, you have to contend with a bunch of inconsiderate, entitled pedestrians who act like they own the road and can wander across the street whenever they feel like it, then give you a dirty look as you whiz by them.

Pedal promise
The ongoing perils and recent improvements en route to a riding renaissance.
Boston has its fair share of deserving bad reputations: the sports fans whined for some 86 years about a “curse” because the Red Sox couldn’t seal the deal; the drivers are terrible; and, thanks in no small part to those driving skills, the city’s streets were thrice voted by Bicycling Magazine as some of the worst in the country for cyclists.

Apple loses its cool

Sheez, they’re getting awfully touchy out in Cupertino.

Rent a ride
Zipcar-like bike rentals headed to Boston
Last August, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council announced that a public bike-sharing system would be coming to Boston, possibly as soon as this summer. The bikes were to come from Public Bike Systems, the creators of Montreal’s Bixi Bike program.

Harvard virginity conference pops its cherry
Roe v. Wait Dept.
At what moment are you no longer a virgin? When you get a blowjob? Give one? Give 30 ? When someone fingers you? Oral sex? Anal sex? Enjoyment? Orgasm?

MIT’s ROFLcon, a gathering of the Web’s biggest names, decides what will make you laugh and cry.
I just woke up from some sort of bizarre dream. I was at MIT. There was a weirdo painting nudes of President Obama on a unicorn. Several adults were dressed like domestic animals.

Cycle killers
With its own porn, polo, and personalities, bike culture in Boston isn’t just about getting to work any more
Clearly, this isn’t the sport of gentlemen unfolding at, say, the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton, but rather urban bike polo at a street-hockey pit in Allston. Many are dressed in black and look like refugees from a club Goth night. Participants sometimes wear Mexican-wrestler masks, while others have no shirts on at all.

Words around town
Our fair city is chock full of people who write well and are willing to teach you their trade.

Ledge Lessons
We love you, stressed-out college kids! So relax, and remember how good you have it.
As advocates of higher education and living as long as medically possible, we were sad to read that, according to new-media-powerhouse Web site the Daily Beast, Greater Boston is home to not one but five of the most stressful colleges in the United States.
