BUT OVERALL, WOULD YOU SAY MAKING A MOVIE IS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE? Um, I don’t think anyone would call shooting a movie pleasant! [Laughs.] It could be amazing, it could be exciting, but it’s so unpleasant.
WHAT ABOUT THE PROCESS OF EDITING? I like editing, yeah, but it’s not pleasant, no. I know people who love shooting — whether or not it’s easy. I know myself well enough to know that I’m not one of those people. [Laughs.] Like, I kind of face it like it’s a war, like I have to go through it.
AND SO WHAT ABOUT THIS ASPECT OF THE PROCESS, THE PROMOTIONAL ASPECT, DOING INTERVIEWS? This is . . . well, it’s easy to sort of resent this at the time, now, because yeah, you want to be making new stuff but, of course, I wanted nothing more than to be sitting somewhere like here a year ago. [Laughs.] Right? So, it is a bit magical that other people have seen it, and are thinking of it as a real movie.
IT IS A MOVIE. CONGRATULATIONS! Thank you. I try to remember how amazing that is.
