I Now Pronounce You Chuck + Larry

Mainstream gay-marriage endorsement

VIDEO: Watch the trailer for I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.

Who knew that Adam Sandler had a political movie in him? As NYC firefighter Chuck Levine, he bashes a gay basher, preaches intolerance, and attempts to defraud the city by posing as the fem half of a same-sex couple. The scam’s for a good reason. Chuck’s “marital partner,” Larry (King of Queens’s Kevin James), wants to set up his recently motherless children as the beneficiaries of his pension, but a bureaucratic snag. . . . The set-up may be tedious poppycock, but the pay-off has its charms, including a couple of raucous weddings in same-sex-marriage-friendly Canada, Jessica Biel as a sex object, and Ving Rhames as a bull moose raging to burst out of the closet. After all, it is an Adam Sandler vehicle, with director Dennis Dugan and a team of writers (including Alexander Payne of Sideways fame) on board to rearrange the furniture. As weird as it sounds, the Sandlerization of gay marriage is a mainstream endorsement.

i disagree with the 2 and a half stars, it deserved a way higher rating than that.
