STILL ON THE PATH The new full-length album from Trails is in the works; expect it to find its way to you by the end of January.

Speaking of SPOSE, he reports that the albums supported by his recently successful Kickstarter campaign will start to drop as February gets going, with Dankonia, featuring verses over OutKast beats, coming first, to be followed by the Peter Parker Mixtape in late spring. You might look for a follow-up to the recent Yard Sale tour in short order, as well.

Also as January moves into February, look for the JOHN CLAVETTE BAND to bring us Weathered, a five-song EP with full arrangements of organ from Tim Beaulieu, Kevin Lynch's sax, and emotive vocals and piano from Clavette that lean toward British '70s rock on the title track. Lead guitarist Peter Gerard (Restless Groove), drummer Mike Chasse (Preheat, Lady Zen, Strange Pleasure, Dom and the Lucid), and bassist Andrew Pelczar (the Trickle Down) fill things out.

The big news in February will likely be the release of LADY LAMB THE BEEKEEPER's first proper full-length, recorded down in Brooklyn and to be called Ripely Pine. A new track, "Rooftop," has been on SoundCloud for a while and it's a nice selling point for the disc to come: throaty low-down vocals with some Cat Power and Nico flavors, but with a splashy and danceable backbeat. It's noisy, but artful, especially in the late electric guitar work.

Lady Lamb's gig in early December supporting Kaki King didn't get as much love as I was expecting, but the FEBRUARY 19 release of Pine on Ba Da Bing! Records will likely come with a more heavily promoted show to follow.

A bunch of other discs should be on either side of that as well, though release dates haven't been finalized. I've got my eye on NUCLEAR BOOTS' next EP, Filing, which they've recorded with Ron Harrity, who should be able to nicely capture their raw fun. This is a sneaky good band. Drummer Bruce Merson promises "Love Is a Feeling" is a song you should be listening for.

Also in the realm of threatening to head off the rails, the RATTLESNAKES will putting out a split seven-inch with GREAT WESTERN PLAIN sometime in February, as well, with a full-length to follow as summer approaches.

Ira Sterling reports ENGLISH BREAKFAST will make its debut in February, with Shifting Seas, after a few years messing around in the home studio and now putting together a live band that will feature Sterling on voice and guitar; Evan Casas on drums and voice; Evan Chase on electric mandolin and voice; Joe Siviski on voice, synth, utility; and Sam Higgins on bass. Look for a release show, maybe with Phantom Buffalo's Jonny Balzano-Brookes and his new band, the Robin and Rose.

Don't sleep on pianist and singer KATE SCHROCK's upcoming Solo Imperfecto, either. Recorded at Ben Folds's studio in Nashville this year, Schrock says to expect some of her most raw and wide-open work yet. It will be her first full-length release since 2007's Invocation and should be out by month's end.
