Britt is a producer’s producer, so deep into his studio that he recently completed music for two huge Rolex commercials, one directed by Michael Mann. Because of this, he also thinks of Berklee and jazz when it comes to Boston . . . and the cold. “I’m ready for that, man!” he says with a laugh. “I’m from Philadelphia, I’ve got my long underwear on even now!” It might be cold outside, but watch for a hot set inside the Redline. “I have no idea what Britt will play this time around,” Levine says. “I know he’s been known to really mix things up.”
Four-man wrecking crew HEARTHROB, who run the billion-times-awesome every-other-Tuesday party at Middlesex Lounge, took on Montreal on Valentine’s Day. Playing the popular Peer Pressure night, the team brought their visuals, their own re-edits, and, of course, their CEO, GREG FOURNIER. “Peer Pressure and Hearthrob eight trillionator face melter,” he says on the phone. “I can’t wait to come back to Boston and blast the crowd. MORGAN LOUIS and Erik [Pearson, a/k/a BALTIMORODER] adapted to the night. Musically and crowd-wise they were feeling the vibe, they totally focused in on it and got a great response.”
“We were at a little disadvantage ’cause the night was so hip-hop-based,” says Baltimoroder, “but I think we all killed it. I’m really confident we can kill it anywhere we go.” Even more epic was the after-party, where they met up with Boston ex-pat JORDAN DARE. It seemed the event featured women in latex and Mickey Mouse ears spraying one another with oil. “It was fifth dimension,” says DJ talent and phrasemaker RED FOXXWORTH. “I spoke dream language for like three straight hours. I’m not even kidding.” Foxxworth’s star is rising so fast, “Circuits” can hardly keep pace. His “chopped and FX” edit of the Clipse’s “Wamp Wamp” was played on DJ Sinden’s very influential Kiss FM radio show in London.
