Still nasty

By BRIAN COLEMAN  |  July 18, 2007

More than arrests, more than lucrative record sales, and even more than all the ladies that walked through the doors of Luke’s compound or onto the group’s stages, the 2 Live Crew were about having fun, and that is what As Nasty As They Wanna Be is all about. “We were a group that controlled our own destiny,” Luke reminds us. “That’s the most important part, because [there] wasn’t no major label. We could say what we wanted to say, and we sure as hell did!"
