Boston music news: February 29, 2008

Notes on Joe Perry and his sons.
By JIM SULLIVAN  |  February 27, 2008

The family who play together stay together. Aerosmith’s JOE PERRY will join TAB THE BAND, whose line-up includes his sons Tony and Adrian, for the first two gigs of a seven-date Hard Rock Café tour that starts in Boston on February 29. By the way, AEROSMITH will be the first band to have a music-based game created around them. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith hits shops in June . . . Singer/guitarist THALIA ZEDEK (ex-Come) has a new solo disc, Liars and Prayers, on Thrill Jockey arriving in May. Her latest line-up: pianist Mel Lederman, viola/trumpet player David Curry, drummer David Coughlin, and bassist Winston Braman. Writing in a press release, Zedek calls it a “political” album with songs about government-inspired paranoia and religious hypocrisy. . . . The electronic/hard-rock quintet ANARCHY CLUB, led by former Cobalt 60 singer Kevin Smith and Castle von Buhler co-founder and bassist Adam von Buhler, celebrate the release of their new A Drop of Red EP with a March 7 show at Church.
