Still, with no label and, as of recently, no day job, Sullivan is feeling pretty liberated. He’s even hoping to head out on the road for a proper US tour in the near future. “I’m at a place where I’m trying to figure out which direction to go. I’m going by the songs right now. They’re driving the car.”

And the sound of Kim Deal is humming in the background, just as it was when his trip began.
