If I sit down with a guitar and play some folk songs, people won’t go, ‘Oh man, what’s this Bob Dylan bullshit, what do you think this is, the ’60s?’ No, they’d go, ‘Oh, that’s folk,’ because it’s the form and structure of folk music. But if you come along and play really heavy hard-edged rock music, and people say, ‘Oh, it’s Black Sabbath ripoff music,’ I say, ‘Well, that’s heavy metal.’ ”
