Droste is aware that this kind of blog buzz has limits. "The people who listen to the radio probably don't read Pitchfork or Stereogum or the New Yorker." Which is a subtle way of admitting that indie rock is music for the educated upper classes. He's not shy about wishing that wasn't the case. "If Top 40 radio stations started playing 'Two Weeks,' that would be a huge coup for us."
That's a pipe dream, and Droste knows it, but who cares? Veckatimest deserves all the airplay it can get.

The local-media story line of the moment is the push by Stephen Taylor — Milton resident, Yale media lecturer, and former Boston Globe executive VP — to recapture the paper his family ran for more than a century, a goal he's pursuing with the backing of (among others) his cousin Benjamin Taylor, the former Globe publisher.
