“I’m not sure who people look at as our peers, but a lot of them are not still at it,” says Priest, who credits De La Soul and El-P as fellows in stylistic stubbornness. “On the major side, though, there’s a definite parallel between Pharrell and Kanye and what we helped introduce electronically.” Adds Blaize: “That’s cool though — we’re just trying to pick up where we left off.”
