Iraqis don’t count!

By PHILLIPE AND JORGE  |  March 28, 2007

Farewell, decanter of doom
Word comes to P&J that the Decatur Lounge, one of the Biggest Little’s most beloved bars, is closing. Owner Joann Seddon hopes to reopen in the future, but this appears, at the moment, to be the most prudent approach to a business impasse. This could put a temporary crimp, however, in sales of Narragansett Beer.

The Decatur was a great West Side spot for hipsters, neighborhood characters, dog lovers, sports lovers, kickball lovers, and lots of other interesting people from across the city and beyond (it was a great mix, for sure). We will miss drinking Decatur Decapitators and watching the Sox or Sopranos in the bar’s cozy confines.

Iraqis don’t count!
With all the prescribed drugs Anna Nicole Smith was taking how can it have been an "accidental overdose"? ( sound more like medical negligence to me) She was on 9 drugs including: clonapine, valium & ativan - which are highly addictive.... She also took chloral hydrate ( sleeping drug)& methadone. A doctor should never have prescribed all these drugs at once yasmin

Iraqis don’t count!
Why can't people just let Anna rest...and give her loved ones, friends and family the respect and privacy they deserve? Call me simple, but it just makes sense to me...

Like Captain Ahab with Moby-Dick, it appears Providence Bishop Tommy Tobin has his own obsession with Rep. Patrick Kennedy.

Phillipe and Jorge are coming late to this fight, as last week’s column was already filed when the announcement was made that Governor Donald Carcieri — Governor Ghoul to you — had vetoed a bill giving domestic partners the right to claim the bodies of and make funeral arrangements for the people with whom they shared their lives.

What’s black and white and re(a)d all over? Certainly not the Providence Urinal, whose circulation has been falling faster than a 1000-pound safe pushed out of a sky-scraper window.
  •   JUDGING THE JUDGE  |  October 28, 2009
After reading Sunday’s front page BeloJo story, “Support for R.I. Judge not unanimous,” your superior correspondents have to suspect that everything — absolutely everything — is thoroughly politicized.
