Up Plum Creek without a paddle

By YANNI PEARY  |  November 28, 2007

Ultimately, we asked, wasn't there a lot the company could do to appease pissed-off environmentalists, and maybe even win a few supporters, by moderating environmental impact, even if it didn’t mean building even one less house than the company wants?

In classic corporate style, Muzzy’s response was “no comment.” He did note that the company is focused on broader plans, rather than getting into specific details of building materials or energy usage in the development, if it goes forward.

But he conceded that in retrospect thinking more aggressively environmentally “probably would have been a good idea.”

Up Plum Creek without a paddle
How can so many people's objections to this enormous project fall on deaf ears? The greed factor here is disgusting. What about all the wildlife that will suffer irreparable harm by this. The wildlife in Maine is what makes Maine MAINE. How many more acres of our beautiful state has to dissapear to like of this company. It's beautiful the way it is and always has been. Go away Mr. Muzzy!
