There is nothing all that unusual about Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch's now well-publicized travels to New Orleans, San Francisco, and other far-flung locales. Just the networking and fundraising forays of a pol gearing up for a gubernatorial run.

Patrick Lynch goes for broke

Patrick Lynch's office did not launch the prosecution of Town Admin Jon Oster. It was Sheldon Whitehouse. Remember Sheldon announcing that Oster was on video tape "accepting bribes" 6 years ago. The tape was finally seen by jurors and reporters Friday and nobody saw anybody accepting any bribes. If the tapes showed bribes accepted, we would have finally seen it, but there was nothing to see or report. Sheldon lied. Patrick's office did not follow Judge Savage's order to keep telephone conversation tapes sealed under lock and key. The seals were broken, but there was no investigation into tapering with evidence. Then Patrick appealed the decision to throw out those unsealed tapes to the Sup Ct which delayed trial for three years for that alone. Patrick's office lied about Oster, tampered with evidence, delayed the case to avoid embarrassment of the lies and a faulty prosecution.
