ANY ANECDOTES INVOLVING THE NEWPAPER OR PROVIDENCE PHOENIX? The first time I met Ian Donnis, he repeated Elliot Jaspin’s description of Rhode Island as a “theme park for journalists.” That’s now one of my favorite ways to describe our state.
FAVORITE LOCAL DISH? Tuna melt on croissant at the Cable Car.
IF YOU DIDN’T LIVE HERE, WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE? Vancouver, BC.
FAVORITE FORMER PAWSOX PLAYER? Jacoby Ellsbury.
WHAT BAR/RESTAURANT/LANDMARK/PERSONALITY THAT HAS CEASED TO EXIST IN THE LAST 30 YEARS DO YOU MISS THE MOST? Ocean Coffee Roasters on Waterman Street. If my friends were working the counter, I got my muffins and mochas for free. They also had a great lentil soup.
