This game about a scruffy mystery novelist ends up being a lot murkier and creepier than you might expect, leading us to compare it to survival horror titles that also gave us a cute guy to make up for the scary stuff (e.g., Silent Hill, Resident Evil, F.E.A.R., etc). Speaking of outside influences, Alan’s feisty charm also reminds us of Nathan Fillion’s mystery-solving novelist character on Castle. It seems that making a writer into a fit, gun-wielding action hero might be turning into an unexpectedly sexy trend.
