Well, who didn’t in 1989, the year of Field of Dreams? Boomers were coming to grips with aging parents and their own grown-up responsibilities. Late-developing adults like George W. Bush, who was newly sober and Born Again and probably starting to get back on good terms with his dad, then starting his term as president.

Is there any significance to Indiana Jones’s returning to the screen 19 years later as the younger Bush ends his own checkered reign and rides into the sunset? Probably not. But I’ll be happy if it means that they start making movies like Keaton and Chaplin — and the Steven Spielberg of Raiders — once again.
